Job Profile:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company’s fleet, ensuring optimal deployment of vehicles for agricultural, production, and administrative purposes.
- Plan and monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure timely servicing and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Implement and manage a robust fuel monitoring and cost control system.
- Maintain accurate documentation for each vehicle including insurance, registration, servicing logs, and usage records.
- Supervise and manage drivers, mechanics, and transport support staff, ensuring discipline, efficiency, and safety.
- Coordinate with procurement and operations teams for logistics planning, spare part inventory, and vehicle allocations.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with roadworthiness, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze fleet performance data and generate periodic reports for management review.
Person Profile:
- A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Transport Management, or a related field.
- Additional certifications in fleet management, logistics, or vehicle maintenance will be a distinct advantage.
- Valid knowledge of motor traffic regulations and operational licenses is essential.
- Minimum of 12 years of hands-on experience in fleet or transport management, preferably in an agricultural, plantation, or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in vehicle maintenance planning, fuel and cost management, and team supervision.
- Familiarity with heavy-duty vehicles, tractors, trailers, and transport vehicles used in large-scale plantations or production facilities.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance protocols, fleet tracking systems, and preventive maintenance.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and scheduling abilities.
- Analytical skills to monitor costs, usage trends, and operational performance.
- Proficiency in using fleet management software or Excel-based tracking systems.
- Effective communication and people management skills, with the ability to manage drivers and workshop teams.
- Sound understanding of health, safety, and statutory compliance related to transport and fleet operations.
