Job Description
What you'll do
- Legal Research: Be up to date with legislation and legal practices.
- Document Drafting & Review: Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, leases, and conveyancing documents ensuring compliance with current laws and regulations.
- Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with departments to customize documents and provide advice to ensure clarity, compliance, and effectiveness.
- Court Attendance: Attend court hearings and assist with litigation matters.
- Document Management & Templates: Maintain a library of templates, securely organize legal documents for easy access.
- Ad-hoc Legal Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as document filing, coordination with legal consultants, meeting preparation, and client correspondence.
We're looking for
- A degree in Attorney-at-Law, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- Certification or training in legal drafting or contract management.
- Qualified Legal Executive with at least 3 years of experience working in a legal practice.
- Strong knowledge of the laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of contracts & conveyancing.
- Sound knowledge of company law, contract law, labor laws, and regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Experience in litigation handling, compliance, intellectual property, and risk management.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Sinhala, both written and spoken.
- Strong ethics, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
