Executive – Sustainability and Compliance
Uga Bay is a luxury boutique hotel located along the beachfront and set just meters from the pristine beaches of the stunning crescent shaped Passikudha Bay. Owned and managed by Uga, which is a luxury boutique hotel chain with an exquisite collection of hotels. The Uga Experience unites the natural magic of Sri Lanka with the warmest hospitality of her people.
We are currently looking to recruit a dynamic, result oriented and highly motivated individuals for the position of Executive – Sustainability and Compliance to be based at our luxury property in Passikudha.
Responsibilities
- Implement company sustainability standards at all levels within the resort and implement ESG process of the company.
- Conduct learning and development programs for our staff at all levels, and update the organization with latest sustainability developments.
- Collection of data related to ESG platform, evaluate performance and maintain targets for continual improvements.
- Provide solutions and advisory to the management regarding new sustainability developments in the industry and provide coordination between the resort management and the corporate office sustainability department.
- Conduct inspections, audits related to sustainability, health and safety, productivity.
- Maintain Travelife certification requirements and implement new certifications programs in the future.
- Develop Sustainability Hub for the resort which will be a functional unit to showcase resort sustainability initiatives to the guests including daily sustainability performance indicators.
- Provide leadership to the resort sustainability committee.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sustainability, ESG, or a related role (hospitality industry experience will be an added value) for a minimum of 2 years with a track record of successful strategy development and implementation.
- Strong understanding of ESG reporting standards and other sustainability frameworks, environmental and social sustainability principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, project management, a team player and thrive working independently.
- Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and writing.
- Ability to converse in Sinhala and Tamil would be an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
