An Australian-based apparel and tactical gear manufacturing company with operations in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, is seeking a Logistics Executive to join our team.
Logistics Executive
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and highly organized individual, with experience in handling import and export logistics processes, freight coordination, and government approvals. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day logistics operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies including the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Textiles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain quotations for import shipments (air and sea freight) and coordinate approvals.
- Liaise with shippers and clearing agents to arrange pick-up and clearance.
- Prepare and submit required documentation (Invoices, Packing Lists, NFE letters, etc.) for customs clearance.
- Handle the documentation process for approvals from the Ministry of Textiles and Ministry of Defence for camouflage imports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for import and export shipments to support annual INFAC license renewals.
- Coordinate with the packing team and prepare export documents for courier, air freight, and sea freight shipments.
- Collect export freight quotes from forwarders and maintain detailed export shipment registers.
Candidate Profile:
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, freight coordination, or shipping documentation.
- Familiarity with Sri Lankan customs procedures and clearance requirements.
- Experience working with Ministries for shipment approvals (Textiles/Defence) is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across departments.
- Fluent in Sinhala and English.
