We’re Hiring: Fashion Designer – Junior Fast Fashion
Location: Kandy, Sri Lanka
- Work directly with U.S.-based clients
- Full-time | Knit, Woven & Sweater Categories
We are seeking a highly motivated and trend-savvy Fashion Designer to join our team in Kandy or Colombo, Sri Lanka. This role supports a top-tier, fast fashion Junior mass-market brand with a strong U.S. presence. You will work directly with the U.S. office to create fashion-forward collections in dresses, tops, bottoms, and activewear, across Knit, Woven, and Sweater categories.
Ideal Candidate:
You are passionate about fast fashion, up-to-date with U.S. market trends, and experienced in working in a fast-paced design environment. You have a strong sense of style, excellent CAD skills, and the ability to translate global trends into commercial designs for the Junior customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate daily with the Senior Designer and U.S.-based design team
- Conceptualize and design collections based on current Junior market trends
- Present seasonal concepts—prints, colors, silhouettes, fabrics, mood boards, and trend inspiration
- Develop tech packs with detailed proto specs, construction details, and BOMs
- Create CAD sketches for internal review, sales meetings, and buyer presentations
- Review new developments and organize proto/sample charts
- Provide initial garment specs and work on adjustments based on fittings
- Maintain accurate tracking of projects and updates in design charts
- Ensure strong communication and reporting with the U.S. team
- Create seasonal color cards and trend boards
- Work with cut & sew knits, sweaters, and wovens confidently
- Perform in-person and online sample shopping and organize returns as needed
- Maintain a proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented attitude
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in Fashion Design (preferably Junior or fast fashion)
- Strong CAD and Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Excellent trend awareness and market understanding
- Knowledge of garment construction and fit
- Ability to build complete tech packs independently
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Must be a strong team player with a proactive mindset
