Programme Officer - (Vacancy Announcement: NTT/PO/20/July/2025)
The Neelan Tiruchelvam Trust (NTT) is a Sri Lankan organization that provides grants to and strengthens the capacity of civil society organizations with the vision ‘to establish and protect a just, equitable and peaceful society’. Since its inception in 2000, the NTT has supported initiatives throughout the country and on a wide array of issues related to social justice and peacebuilding through grant making, and capacity and discourse building.

Main Roles and Responsibilities
- Work with Manager, Programmes & Grants and NTT team in grant administration and take responsibility to implement grant-making processes;
- Review grant applications and preparation of grant agreements;
- Conduct capacity assessments and capacity building programs for partners;
- Organize meetings, prepare relevant documentation, and record and maintain meeting minutes;
- Ensure translation of documentation and relevant information if needed;
- Conduct field visits to monitor and evaluate projects;
- Provide inputs for newsletters, annual reports, and publications of the NTT.
Qualifications: Education and Experience
- Degree preferably in law, human rights, international relations, development studies, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ work experience in grant-making or working in partnerships with CSOs/NGOs/INGOs/international organizations.
- Experience in designing, organizing, and implementing programmes including conferences/convenings/workshops.
- Experience in working on integrating ideas from diverse perspectives, creating partnerships, and initiating and building collaborations with others.

- Ability to effectively manage tasks of various sizes, from small to complex, deal with simultaneously competing demands, and deliver on time.
- Excellent analytical, written, facilitation and oral communication skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Respect for cultural diversity and in interacting with people and organizations from varying backgrounds and with diverse views.
- Track record of taking initiative and a high sense of responsibility.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken. Fluency in Tamil and/or Sinhala will be an added advantage.
- Sound skills in MS Windows with MS Office, mainly in word processing, spreadsheet software, including proficiency in e-mail and internet usage.
- Ability and willingness to travel to all areas of the country independently and work with people of all communities.
Salary scale
The basic salary for this position is between LKR 90,000.00 and LKR 230,000.00, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications. In addition to the basic salary, the selected candidate will be eligible for additional allowances, benefits and will be included in the staff medical insurance package.
