Assistant Accountant
Navik & Jaindi sister companies are well reputed, large-scale coconut based food and beverage manufacturers and exporters established in 2019 at Pallama, Chilaw. Due to rapid growth and expansion of the company, we are seeking an energetic professional to join with us.
Responsibilities
The Assistant Accountant will support the finance department by carrying out essential accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. The role involves assisting with day-to-day finance operations, preparing reports, and helping with audits and compliance.
Main Duties:
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payments
- Support the monthly and yearly closing processes
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Maintain and update general ledger entries
- Handle petty cash transactions and records
- Support the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Liaise with auditors and provide necessary documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial regulations
- Support the Tax Duties (VAT/APIT/SVAT Etc.)
Candidate Profile
- Part qualification in Accounting (AAT, CMA, ACCA, or similar) or a Diploma in Finance/Accounting
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience:
2–3 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role preferred.
