Chief Operating Officer
We are a fast-growing, small-scale, export-oriented company with an annual turnover of LKR 1 billion, engaged in the production and export of high-quality spices and coir-based products. Located in the Gampaha District, we employ 40 staff members.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our leadership team and drive the strategic growth and operational excellence of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead overall business operations to achieve budgeted targets.
- Execute strategies to promote the existing business in international markets and identify new market opportunities.
- Oversee production planning, procurement, and supply chain activities.
- Manage financial planning, budgeting, and cost control.
- Lead and supervise operational teams, including labor and production staff.
- Visit the supplier base, identify new sources of supply, actively engage in process improvements, and work closely at the ground level.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to align operations with the company’s strategic goals.
Candidate Profile:
- A hands-on, practical leader with a positive attitude and willingness to work at the ground level when necessary.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a managerial role in a reputed company, preferably within manufacturing or exports.
- The ideal candidate should actively engage with teams on operational realities and day-to-day challenges.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Good understanding of export procedures, production management, and finance.
- Proven experience in business development and strategic planning.
- A Degree / Diploma in Business Management, Food Science, Operations or a related field will be an added advantage.
