Position – Assistant Manager Finance

  • This is a most senior position in the company and we are looking for an exceptional person who is prepared to take responsibility and be answerable directly to the Chairman and the Board of Directors on all financial matters pertaining to the business.
  • We are looking for an energetic candidate with abundant dedication, experience in hospitality setting and the relevant academic credentials to carry the business forward to growth and prosperity.
  • This candidate must possess excellent spoken and written English and hold a BS degree / partly qualified in CA, CIMA or ACCA would be an added advantage.
  • Candidate who is living close to Southern province will be given priority.
  • Preferred age: Below 40 years.

1. GENERAL DUTIES

  • The Assistant Finance Manager must ensure that the company is run and maintained according to the budget allocated by the company.
  • The Assistant Finance Manager will be accountable and take full responsibility for Management Accounting, Financial Accounting & Cost Accounting.
  • Managing and coordinating monthly reporting, budgeting and reforecast processes.
  • Must comply and execute a plan and strategy to safeguard the company from breakdowns and be on hand to cope with sudden surges and drop offs.

2. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attention to detail, an ability to take initiative, take immediate action and take the correct action for solving financial problems.
  • Possess a sound and proven knowledge of budgeting and forecasting and pricing.
  • Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups & maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • A familiarity with business and financial principles and be able to achieve sales targets set by the Chairman.
  • Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting, metrics and basic IT skills (databases, MS Office, etc).
  • A Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Assistant Finance Manager would be a distinct advantage.
  • A proven track record as an Assistant Finance Manager of at least 8 to 10 years standing, essential. Willing to take on challenges outside standard requirements. An ability to react to emergency situations.
