Position

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor (Pre Contract) to join our talented team in Kaduwela, Sri Lanka. You will be responsible for overseeing and leading the preparation of cost estimates, BOQs, tender documentation, and value engineering processes. The role requires deep technical knowledge, strong leadership, and attention to detail in delivering commercial support during the design and procurement stages.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Planning and Estimation

  • Develop detailed cost plans and feasibility studies for various project stages.
  • Prepare budget estimates and provide advice on cost-effective solutions.
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs and measurements.

Tender Documentation and Evaluation

  • Evaluate contractor bids, prepare tender comparison reports, and recommend the best value.

Risk Assessment and Value Engineering

  • Identify and manage risks in the pre-contract stage.
  • Conduct value engineering workshops to optimize project cost without compromising quality.
  • Propose procurement strategies and assist in contract negotiations.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive records of cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents.
  • Prepare cost summaries, project updates, and financial reports for clients.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in pre-contract quantity surveying.
  • Strong knowledge of cost planning, tender documentation, and procurement strategies.
  • Professional membership such as MRICS or equivalent is highly desirable.
