ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Executive to join our team. The ideal candidate will manage the purchasing and logistics of raw materials based on the forecast. The role also involves regular communication with foreign suppliers and service providers to ensure the smooth flow of goods and information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage end-to-end import operations, including documentation, shipping and customs clearance.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating international suppliers.
  • Liase with foreign suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines and customs officials.
  • Coordinate with overseas vendors to confirm product availability, shipping schedules and order follow-ups.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively handle any issues or delays.
  • Support the procurement of raw materials, components and finished goods.
  • Ensure compliance with trade regulations and company policies.
  • Analyze cost structures and support price negotiations.
  • Monitor supplier performance and delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as Procurement, Finance and Stores to ensure smooth operations.

PROFILE

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in import operations.
  • Experience in coordinating with international suppliers is essential.
  • Familiarity with Sri Lanka Customs procedures, shipping documentation and HS codes.
  • Knowledge of BOI regulations will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
