QUALITY ASSURANCE EXECUTIVE
The Colombo Ice Company (CICL), manufacturer of Elephant House Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CICL is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
Vacancies exist for the role of an Executive - Quality Assurance at Supply Chain. The position will be based in Avissawella.
The selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Conducting microbiological tests on raw material and packing material according to a sample plan; Conducting microbiological tests on finished products (ice cream, milk) according to a sample plan; conduct SWAB analysis daily for the production lines.
- Conducts periodic sample tests (as per sample plan) on plant and personnel; Identifies areas which need to be improved on as per standards; Communicates the same with action plans to relevant management; Reports on discrepancies to ensure the specified standards are met in factory premises and with those working with products.
- Identifies chemical requirements for Lab operations; Prepares chemicals as per the standards to be used in the analysis.
- Supplier visit for continuous improvement of the raw materials and packaging material quality.
- Engage with the cold chain operations to improve the product quality and mitigate the customer complaints.
- Scheduling shifts and work arrangement, leave and OT Non-Executive and Fixed term Contract staff. Maintaining labour costs (labour hours & OT) within budgets.
- Conduct training sessions for the relevant parties for improve hygiene practices.
- Process control & improvement.
- On-time material ordering for the laboratory analysis.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science/ Bio Science or Agriculture with at least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferably 1 year’s experience in Quality Assurance in a FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Leadership, interpersonal skills, problem solving, negotiating skills, decision making & problem solving.
