JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interpret and understand technical packs for active wear and sleepwear and ensure accurate execution by sample operators.
- Work closely with sample room teams to guide and monitor the development of fit and aesthetic samples.
- Ensure samples meet customer technical standards, active wear fit and construction expectations, and quality specifications.
- Highlight potential construction or measurement risks early and coordinate with the Technical Manager and PD Manager to resolve them.
- Collaborate with Product Technologists to achieve desired fit, construction quality, and aesthetic targets.
- Coach and develop sample sewing operators to enhance technical skills and construction techniques.
- Lead initiatives to multi-skill sample room operators across various operation types for increased flexibility and efficiency.
- Support the debugging and refinement of new styles during development stages and support scale-up readiness.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on sewing experience in technical sample development for activewear and sleepwear.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, sewing techniques, and fit evaluation for intimates.
- Experience working with global standards and specifications from major activewear (e.g., M&S, PVH, Victoria's Secret, etc.).
- Previous experience in mentoring or training sewing operators will be a distinct advantage.
Skills
- Excellent technical knowledge in activewear and sleepwear garment construction.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across functions and levels.
- Proactive in problem-solving and risk identification.
- Detail-oriented and quality-driven.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
- Skilled in developing and mentoring operator capability.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
KPIs & Success Measures:
- On-time completion of sample development aligned with tech pack requirements.
- Accuracy of construction and measurements as per customer technical standards.
- Number of fit iterations required to achieve sample approval.
- Timely identification and resolution of technical risks and challenges.
- Operator skill development progress and multiskilling coverage achieved.
- Positive feedback from Product Technologists and Technical Manager on execution quality.
- Reduction in rework or sample rejections due to technical faults.
- Compliance with internal sample development timelines and quality standards.
