POSITION DETAILS
- POSITION TITLE: Product Development Manager
- LOCATION: Mawathagama, Sri Lanka

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the end-to-end product development process across all key categories.
- Oversee sample room operations ensuring timelines and quality benchmarks are met for proto, fit, sales, and sealer samples.
- Manage product technology and garment construction teams to meet global customer technical standards.
- Collaborate with Q UK design and PD teams to translate concepts into commercially viable and technically executable products.
- Ensure timely execution of development aligned with customer calendars and internal production needs.
- Act as a key interface between development, merchandising, design, and manufacturing teams across Sri Lanka and UK.
- Troubleshoot all the technical challenges during the product development process and address issues before bulk execution.
- Maintain and drive the product development critical path and support factory execution timelines.
- Ensure all sampling activity aligns with brand expectations, customer briefs, and Q Collection innovation goals.
- Prepare and lead customer development meetings, tech reviews, and milestone updates.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Apparel Technology, Fashion Design, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in product development, including 5 years in a senior or managerial role.
- Proven expertise in lingerie and performance wear product construction and technical execution.
- Experience in working with international brands/retailers (preferably UK/EU market).
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work across global teams.
- Proficiency in managing critical path, sample tracking systems, and development documentation.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- On-time delivery of proto, fit, and sealer samples (target ≥ 95%).
- First-time fit approval rate (target ≥ 85%).
- Sampling cost efficiency and material utilization improvement.
- Customer satisfaction score and development feedback rating.
- Adherence to development critical path milestones and factory execution handover timelines.
- Effective cross-functional collaboration measured by feedback from UK and SL stakeholders.
- Innovation-to-market turnaround time reduction by season.
- Accuracy of BOM and tech pack alignment from concept to production.
