ACCOUNTANT

LET’S JOIN OUR TEAM! Asset Security Services (Pvt) Ltd is a fully-fledged security service having fulfilled all standard requirements of a professional security service provider should possess.

LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE, COLOMBO 07.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Record-Keeping & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Assist in preparing annual budgets.
    • Monitor actual performance vs. budget and report variances.
    • Support management in financial planning and analysis.
  • Payroll Management
    • Process payroll for security personnel (including guards, supervisors, etc.).
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, taxes, and benefits administration.
    • Handle overtime, shift differentials, and other variable pay components.
  • Client Billing & Invoicing
    • Generate invoices based on service contracts (e.g., hours worked, number of guards deployed).
    • Track receivables and follow up on overdue payments.
    • Reconcile billing with attendance or deployment logs.
  • Expense Management
    • Monitor and control operational expenses (e.g., uniforms, equipment, vehicles).
    • Review and verify expense claims and purchase orders.
    • Manage petty cash systems if applicable.
  • Tax Compliance
    • Prepare and file tax returns (e.g., VAT, corporate tax, payroll taxes).
    • Ensure timely remittance of all statutory deductions and taxes.
    • Liaise with auditors and tax authorities.
  • Internal Controls & Audit Support
    • Develop and enforce internal controls to prevent fraud or financial mismanagement.
    • Support internal and external audits.
    • Ensure financial transparency and accountability.
  • Contract & Financial Analysis
    • Review financial terms of client contracts.
    • Analyze profitability of different service agreements or client accounts.
  • Asset & Inventory Management
    • Track assets such as vehicles, radios, CCTV equipment, and uniforms.
    • Maintain depreciation schedules and asset registers.
  • Coordination with Operations Team
    • Work closely with operations or deployment teams to verify hours worked.
    • Ensure financial data reflects actual security services rendered.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education & Certification
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Chartered qualifications are added advantage.
    • More than 03 years experience in same capacity.
  • Technical Accounting Skills
    • General ledger management.
    • Accounts payable/receivable.
    • Payroll processing.
    • Budgeting and forecasting.
    • Tax preparation and compliance.
    • Financial statement preparation (P&L, balance sheets, etc.).
  • Software Proficiency
    • Accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
    • Microsoft Excel (advanced skills: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas).
