Shipping Executive
Elegant Knitting International Pvt Ltd at Biyagama is a leading apparel manufacturer with a global presence. We are seeking a highly motivated Shipping Executive to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling our import and export shipping operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Shipping Export Executive, you are responsible for the following:
- Responsible for booking and shipping arrangements based on shipment schedule and meeting customer delivery expectations
- Request shipping rates from carriers when needed
- Manage bookings for both import and export freight, including air and sea shipments, cross-border trucking, inland clearance, and trucking services.
- Verify and validate freight invoices.
- Keep internal teams informed about shipment transit times, delays, and advancements.
- Ensure timely booking confirmation with agents/carriers by the shipping team.
- Maintain data accuracy by logging in accurate details into our shipping and logistics systems for daily, weekly and quarterly reporting
- Collaborate with various departments to create comprehensive shipping schedules for S&OP meetings.
- Book carriers that meet cost and time requirements while satisfying customer demands, such as free days.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Logistics or related field
- 3+ years of experience in Logistics/Shipping preferably in the apparel industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with inventory management software
