ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support engineering projects by managing cost estimates, budgets, and contracts. This role involves working closely with project teams to ensure financial efficiency, regulatory compliance, and smooth project execution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare detailed cost estimates (BOQ) for engineering works.
- Assist in the development of tender and project budgets.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Administer contracts to ensure all parties adhere to terms and conditions.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs using drawings and specifications.
- Prepare purchase orders, service orders, and follow up until receipt by the supplier.
- Monitor project expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Follow up on contractor payments.
- Liaise with site managers, engineers, and other construction professionals.
- Conduct site visits to verify that work aligns with budget and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, legal requirements, and health & safety standards.
- Maintain organized records of all project documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- NVQ Level 4 or above in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Proficient in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
