PROCUREMENT OFFICER/ASSISTANT
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree: A degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field is generally required.
- Alternative Qualifications: A Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in procurement or materials management can be acceptable, particularly with prior experience.
Experience Requirements
- Entry-Level: 1–2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles, sometimes starting as a Procurement Assistant/officer
- Age Preference: Often 22–30 or 22–35 years old.
Technical and Soft Skills
- System Proficiency: Strong command of MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) is required.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate with suppliers on cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze costs, maintain inventory, and track shipments.
- Communication: Excellent proficiency in English and Sinhala (Tamil is also an asset)
