We Are Hiring - Naturalist
Sri Lanka’s first property to earn the prestigious Heritage Grand classification, proudly carrying a 134-year legacy of colonial charm and modern luxury. Located in the scenic hill country, the hotel features 154 rooms, including luxury suites, 10 F&B outlets, and a range of exclusive facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct guided nature walks, birdwatching tours, and outdoor experiences around Nuwara Eliya
- Share expert knowledge of Sri Lanka’s biodiversity, flora, fauna, and ecosystems
- Design engaging and educational eco-experiences for guests of all ages
- Promote conservation, sustainability, and environmental awareness
- Organize outdoor activities, trekking, and nature-based excursions
- Deliver informative presentations on wildlife, culture, and local heritage
- Assist in developing eco-tourism programs and guest activities
- Work closely with the marketing team to promote nature experiences and sustainability initiatives
- Ensure guest safety and high service standards during all excursions
- Maintain updated knowledge on wildlife, conservation trends, and eco-tourism practices
Qualifications & Skills:
- Qualification in Environmental Studies, Zoology, Botany, Wildlife Management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Naturalist, Eco Guide, or Environmental Educator
- Strong knowledge of Sri Lanka’s biodiversity, especially the hill country region
- Excellent communication, presentation, and guest engagement skills
- Passion for conservation, adventure tourism, and sustainability
- Ability to lead outdoor activities and interact confidently with international guests
- Good organizational and teamwork skills
- Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage
- First Aid or outdoor safety certification will be an added advantage
