Assistant Manager – Engineering
We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager – Engineering who is with right mindset, technical expertise, and passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences. The role focuses on supporting the Head of the Department in maintaining the property's physical assets, ensuring operational efficiency, and assisting in leading the engineering team to consistently deliver high standards of maintenance and service.
- Familiar with and complies with the hotel's mission and standards in performing maintenance activities.
- Assist the Head of the Department in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department.
- Coordinate and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure timely completion.
- Supervise engineering team members and contractors, ensuring work is carried out safely and efficiently.
- Assist in maintaining the physical appearance and operational efficiency of the hotel, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained for all plant, equipment, repairs, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Monitor the condition of property, grounds, plants, rooms, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and coordinate with other departments to minimize operational disruptions.
- Support energy conservation initiatives and cost-control measures within the department.
- Assist in training and developing engineering team members on maintenance procedures and safety practices.
- Act on behalf of the Head of the Department during periods of absence as required.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years' experience with reputed hospitality brands, including a minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a international star-class hotel.
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Sound knowledge of hotel engineering, operations, preventive maintenance systems and building services.
- Good understanding of construction, maintenance procedures, safety regulations, and project coordination.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective leadership and team supervision skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to work independently with a positive attitude in a dynamic team environment.
