Project Coordinator
Location: Batticaloa, Sri Lanka

Position Summary
The Project Coordinator – Early Childhood Care and Development ECCD Initiative will lead the implementation of a community-based Early Childhood Development Initiative in Iruththampuram East, Batticaloa. The role focuses on promoting cognitive, emotional, and social development among vulnerable children through structured early learning, family engagement, stakeholder collaboration, and community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the implementation of the ECCD Program activities.
- Prepare and implement Annual Operational Plans aligned with CERi strategic objectives.
- Supervise teachers to ensure quality service delivery.
- Coordinate with Government officials, education and health professionals, NGOs, and community stakeholders.
- Promote family strengthening approaches through assessments and targeted interventions.
- Organize community awareness programs and stakeholder engagement activities related to child development and wellbeing.
- Monitor child development outcomes, enrolment progress, family participation, and project indicators.
- Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and donor progress reports.
- Manage project budgets, resources, procurement, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure safeguarding, child protection, confidentiality, and ethical standards are maintained.
Qualifications & Experience for the Role
Required Education & Professional Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Work, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing community development or education projects, preferably in Early Childhood Care and Development ECCD.
- Experience in stakeholder coordination, team supervision, monitoring & evaluation, and budget management.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- Strong skills in Excel, data analysis, and report writing.
- Knowledge of Sri Lanka's National Preschool Curriculum is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multicultural communities in the Eastern Province.
Travel and/or Work Environment
- Willingness to be flexible with hours when necessary and able to travel often in the field.
- Having a valid driving license.
Language Requirements
- Proficiency in English and Tamil.
- Proficiency in Sinhala will be an added advantage.
