Senior Manager / Head of Quality Assurance & Research and Development
A prestigious and long-standing Food processing organization in Sri Lanka, with an illustrious legacy spanning over 60 years, invites applications from accomplished professionals for the pivotal role of Senior Manager / Head of Quality Assurance & Research and Development.
The Role
Reporting to senior leadership, the selected candidate will provide strategic direction and operational leadership across Quality Assurance and Research & Development functions. This role demands a forward-thinking professional capable of driving innovation, ensuring uncompromising quality standards, and strengthening the organization's position in both local and international markets.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide end-to-end leadership of QA & R & D, aligning with corporate strategy and growth objectives
- Champion world-class food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance
- Lead product innovation and process enhancement for local and export markets
- Drive and sustain internationally recognized certifications including BRC, FSSC, and SMETA
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory frameworks governing the edible oil and Fat production process
- Spearhead a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and innovation
- Mentor and develop high-performing teams while fostering cross-functional collaboration
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Bioscience, Food Science, or a related discipline
- Master's degree (MSc) in a relevant field is essential; exposure to general management disciplines will be a distinct advantage
- A minimum of 15 years' progressive experience in Quality Assurance within the food manufacturing industry, including at least 8 years in a senior managerial capacity
- Demonstrated expertise managing products across both Export and Local markets
- Strong command of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks within the edible oil sector
- Proven track record with global certifications such as BRCGS, FSSC 22000, GMP and SMETA
- Exceptional leadership presence, strategic thinking, and decision-making capability
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and team leadership skills
