SHIFT EXECUTIVE - ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC
Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Soft Drinks and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Shift Executive - Electrical & Electronic. The position exists to assist in carrying out preventive maintenance and minimize breakdowns of electrical aspects of all production & utility operations of Soft Drinks Factory; maintenance of Electrical aspects in production & utility equipment of Ice Cream / Soft drinks Factories WITHIN statutory and organizational guidelines WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF ensuring that production can be carried out with no disruptions.
The selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Take full responsibility for all electrical and automation systems during the assigned shift.
- Ensure uninterrupted operation of production lines by minimizing electrical and automation-related downtime.
- Attend breakdowns and perform advanced fault finding on PLC, VFD, and control systems.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities as per schedule.
- Coordinate with mechanical and production teams for efficient troubleshooting.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major and repetitive breakdowns.
- Analyze recurring failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and shift records.
- Ensure availability of critical electrical/ electronic spare parts during shifts.
- Raise requisitions and coordinate with stores for timely replenishment during shifts.
- Support ongoing improvement and CapEx projects.
- Administration of Human Capital Management system.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized Institution with 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in PLC systems.
- Experience with VFDs, soft starters, sensors, and industrial instrumentation.
- Knowledge of MCC panels, motor control systems, and power distribution.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and control schematics.
- Good understanding of preventive maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with food safety and quality standards (GMP, HACCP).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-Initiation and independent decision making.
- Ability to work under pressure in a shift-based environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
