EXECUTIVE INBOUND LOGISTICS
Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS) manufactures of Elephant House Soft Drinks and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Executive Inbound Logistics. The position exists to be responsible and accountable for the following areas with regard CCS. Responsible for managing and controlling stocks/materials within statutory and organizational guidelines with the objective of ensuring that the stock control function is taken care of at the best possible level for the business.
The selected candidates will be responsible for:
- Oversee material planning, inventory management, and store operations to ensure uninterrupted availability of raw and packaging materials aligned with production requirements.
- Develop and manage annual forecasts and monthly material requirement plans based on rolling production plans, including detailed variance analysis (Plan vs Actual).
- Proactively monitor inventory levels across internal and external warehouses to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory.
- Monitor, analyze, and report key performance indicators such as inventory turnover, warehouse costs, inventory accuracy, material handling losses, and staff overtime.
- Collaborate with production planning, procurement, and external suppliers to ensure seamless inbound logistics and efficient material flow.
- Identify and escalate slow-moving, short-expiry, damaged, or obsolete inventory and coordinate with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
- Conduct periodic stock verifications and ensure high levels of inventory accuracy, including investigation and reporting of variances.
- Maintain accurate and timely SAP transactions (purchase requisitions, goods receipts, inventory updates) to ensure data integrity and operational continuity.
- Ensure full compliance with Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, and applicable ISO standards (QMS, FSMS, EMS, OHSMS) within store operations.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards by implementing and sustaining 5S practices and ensuring all safety equipment is operational and compliant.
- Support finance processes by coordinating vendor payments, resolving invoice discrepancies, and ensuring smooth invoice verification.
- Manage administrative responsibilities including overtime monitoring, reporting, and overall documentation of store operations.
Required qualifications and skills:
- Degree in Warehouse Management / Materials Management or equivalent from a recognized Institute / University. Minimum of 1-2 years working experience in a SAP based Manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Understanding of Inventory control / Stores Management preferably related to Consumer Foods.
- Knowledge in Manufacturing Consumer Food Products and related Food Technology, material management and stock maintenance. MM module in SAP.
- Demonstrate strong business acumen, analytical and innovative thinking, and the ability to build high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, adaptability, negotiation, decision-making, problem-solving, organizational skills, attention to detail, proactiveness, and a strong customer focus are essential.
Remuneration for the above position will be in accordance with the JKH Compensation and Benefits Policy.
