HEAD CHEF

We are looking for an experienced and creative Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations and deliver exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and kitchen efficiency. (Employment Type: Full-Time )

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all daily kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Develop, plan, and update menus in line with the cafe's concept and customer preferences.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to established quality standards.
  • Lead, train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff, including Chef de Parties, Commis Chefs, and Stewards.
  • Monitor food quality, taste, consistency, and presentation before service.
  • Manage food inventory, stock control, and ordering to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Control food costs, minimize wastage, and maximize kitchen efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Create duty rosters and manage kitchen staffing requirements.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and coordinate maintenance or repairs when necessary.
  • Collaborate with management to develop seasonal menus, promotions, and special events.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to improve staff performance and culinary skills.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Handle customer feedback related to food quality and implement improvements where required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or in a similar leadership role.
  • Professional qualification in Culinary Arts, Professional Cookery, or Hospitality Management is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of international and local cuisine preparation techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards.
  • Experience in menu planning, food costing, inventory management, and kitchen budgeting.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Passion for culinary innovation and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Candidates should be between 28 and 40 years of age.
