SENIOR AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN (FULL TIME, PERMANENT)
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Install, test, commission, and maintain automated machinery and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system faults.
- Manufacture, fabricate, and modify machine parts and components using conventional workshop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, grinders, and hand tools in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Diagnose and repair PLC, HMI, servo drive, VFD, sensor, and industrial networking issues.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities in accordance with maintenance schedules.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Assist engineers in machine modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Calibrate sensors, instruments, and control devices.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase reliability and productivity.
- Maintain maintenance records, reports, and spare parts inventories.
- Ensure compliance with company safety procedures, electrical safety standards, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and machine commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
YOU SHOULD:
- Hold a Higher National Diploma (HND), NVQ Level 4, IVQ Level 4, or an equivalent qualification in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Possess strong working knowledge of PLC systems, including Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, and Schneider technologies.
- Have a good understanding of HMI, SCADA, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, and industrial communication networks.
- Demonstrate the ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical drawings, electrical schematics, and engineering documentation accurately.
- Have excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach to fault diagnosis and resolution.
- Be proficient in the use of electrical testing equipment, diagnostic tools, and maintenance instruments to ensure reliable system performance.
