ASSISTANT MANAGER - POSTAL INSURANCE

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage Postal Insurance sales operations in collaboration with the Department of Posts.
  • Achieve sales targets and maintain strong engagement with island-wide channel promoters.
  • Act as the key liaison between Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation and the Department of Posts for smooth operations and resolution.
  • Monitor debit balances, recoveries, commissions, and related financial reporting.
  • Provide data-driven insights and support strategic plans to grow insurance distribution through the postal network.
  • Manage staff administration, HR functions, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Organize sales promotions, competitions, and motivational programs to boost sales.
  • Drive digital products through company digital platforms to the existing customer base.
  • Conduct training programs for channel promoters to improve product knowledge and digital readiness.
  • Work with Marketing to implement promotional and customer awareness campaigns.

Qualifications & Pre-requisites

  • Masters Degree / Post Graduate Diploma / Degree / Special Degree / Professional Qualification or Equivalent related to the Insurance, Marketing, or Business Management from a University/Institute approved by the UGC
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Executive grade in insurance operations, sales, channel management or business development.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing sales channels and stakeholder partnerships, preferably within public-private or SME sectors would be an added advantage.
  • Financial acumen in handling payments, commissions, and recoveries.
  • Must be proficient in digital transformation and demonstrate ability in IT Project Coordination.
  • Strong business analysis skills using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and basic data visualization tools.
  • Exposure to digital marketing, social media promotions, and customer engagement techniques.
  • Strategic thinking with ability to implement change and stay competitive.
  • Strong communication, training, and presentation skills in Sinhala and English.
