We are looking for a dynamic and results-oriented individual to join our team as a Technical Officer attached to the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and well-organized environment within all laboratories to support effective teaching and learning activities.
- Facilitating and assisting academic staff in conducting laboratory sessions smoothly and without interruptions.
- Monitoring laboratory equipment, coordinating repairs of defective items promptly, and arranging suitable alternatives to minimize disruptions to laboratory operations.
- Maintaining adequate buffer stocks of consumables, updating laboratory inventory records, and coordinating the procurement of new equipment and consumables in consultation with the HOD.
- Ensuring that all laboratory equipment is regularly calibrated, verified, and maintained in accordance with operational requirements.
- Reporting any damage, loss, or irregularities related to laboratory property to the HOD immediately and carrying out additional duties assigned by the management.
Minimum Requirements:
- NVQ level 6 or equivalent qualification in the relevant field.
- Demonstrating sound knowledge of laboratory equipment and its operation.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
