The Assistant Manager – Purchasing will be responsible for managing procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, equipment, spare parts, and services required for the company's operations and projects. The role requires close coordination with suppliers, projects teams, stores, and internal stakeholders to maintain uninterrupted business operations while ensuring quality, compliance, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement of engineering equipment, project materials, spare parts, and operational requirements in accordance with company policies and project timelines.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and maintain strong relationships with local and international vendors.
  • Obtain quotations, conduct comparative analyses, and prepare purchase recommendations to ensure cost-effective procurement decisions.
  • Coordinate with project, engineering, stores, and finance teams to ensure timely material availability and smooth project execution.
  • Monitor inventory levels and support the implementation of effective stock control and replenishment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, documentation requirements, and approval processes.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Logistics, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within the engineering, construction, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
  • Sound knowledge of procurement practices, supplier management, and inventory control principles.
  • Experience in handling engineering materials, mechanical or electrical equipment, and project procurement activities will be a distinct advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills with commercial awareness.
