Junior Quality Executive
Ahmad Tea Limited, an internationally reputed tea trading organization based in London, UK has its Liaison Office in Colombo.
We are looking for an ideal person to join our Quality Control Team and function as a Junior Quality Executive
The said candidate should be within 24 — 30 years with a very good command of English and be computer literate as well as work as a team, whilst meeting deadlines and should be prepared to travel to the Emirates for training purposes
Job Specification
The selected candidate will be located in Colombo and will have to adhere to the objective of the Quality Department that exists as an audit function within the manufacturing and packaging area and focuses on fulfilling requirements and providing confidence that quality requirements will be fulfilled. As a Junior Quality Executive you will be supporting material QC in the implementation of quality inspection on the manufacture of high-quality products that meet and even exceed the expectations of our customers.
Responsibilities
- Utilize and optimize quality tools and procedures to maintaining quality products
- Maximizing output and minimizing operational cost
- To share and motivate in guarding the overall effectiveness and performance of the entire quality team and respective functions
- To implement and maintain the overall effectiveness and performance of the operation to maintain Halal, Kosher, HACCP and ISO related certifications as required by the company
- To maintain quality activities towards a leaner operation in terms of functionality, coordination and workforce optimization
- To continuously provide support without sacrificing quality to the production department in achieving monthly output targets and minimal downtime
- To take pride in quality workmanship and generating a culture of quality assurance among staff and colleagues on the shop floor
Essentials
- Diploma or Graduate of BS Chemistry, Food Technology/Science, Microbiology, Chemistry and/or equivalent courses issued by the recognized institution
- Licensed, Post graduate or Master’s Degree is an advantage but not compulsory.
- At least 1-3 years of experience as incoming materials quality controller or as Line QC in an FMCG Industry/environment
- HACCP, Quality Evaluation and Compliance is an advantage.
- Up-to-date knowledge of food safety regulations, relevant legislation, Good Management Practices (GMP) and HACCP programs, and ISO
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills
- Experience with knowledge of full cycle of production and understands and develops the area for optimization of resources usage in terms of quality control
- Demonstrates initiative and has an ability to work under pressure
- Ability to respond positively with confidence when under pressure
- Ability to focus on key objectives and work within specific time frames.
- Highly organized and action oriented, strong attention to details
- Team-player and positive/Optimistic personality and professional attitude
- Excellent planning and coordination skills
- Patient/long tolerance level
- Strong commitment; must be able to work under tight deadlines.
- Perform task as assigned by the Management in addition to the Quality functions
