Position Overview
The Assistant Manager – Modern Trade will be responsible for managing and expanding modern trade sales channels by developing strong relationships with key retail partners, driving revenue growth, and ensuring effective execution of sales strategies. The role requires strong experience in FMCG sales, especially within dairy, food, or beverage categories, along with the ability to manage key accounts and achieve business targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute modern trade sales strategies to achieve revenue, volume, and profitability targets.
- Manage and strengthen relationships with key modern trade customers, supermarkets, and retail chains.
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.
- Negotiate with retail partners on promotions, product placements, pricing, and trade agreements.
- Ensure effective implementation of promotional campaigns and merchandising activities across modern trade outlets.
- Analyze sales reports, inventory levels, and market data to improve sales performance.
- Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, and distribution teams to ensure product availability and smooth operations.
- Manage key account plans and develop strategies to increase market share.
- Lead and support the sales team to achieve assigned targets and improve productivity.
- Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance updates for management review.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Professional qualification or certification in Sales Management, Marketing, or Business Management will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in sales management within a sales-driven environment.
- Proven experience in Modern Trade operations, preferably in the dairy, food, or beverage FMCG industry.
- Strong understanding of retail sales strategies, customer management, and market development.
