Role Overview
As Commis I – Hot Kitchen, you will play an important role in supporting the daily operations of the kitchen in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes in line with established recipes and presentation standards. Working closely with senior chefs, you will help maintain exceptional food quality, uphold the highest standards of hygiene and safety, and contribute to delivering memorable dining experiences for our guests.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen to ensure efficient and smooth service.
- Prepare mise en place and ensure ingredients are readily available for service.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness, and quality in compliance with company standards.
- Manage inventory, stock rotation, and food storage to minimise wastage and maintain product freshness.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences for guests.
- Support senior chefs while continually developing culinary skills and techniques.
- Ensure all dishes meet quality, taste, and presentation standards before service.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive, professional, and safety-focused kitchen environment.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or a related qualification from a recognised catering and hotel management institute.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Commis in a star-class hotel or resort.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy with operational and administrative knowledge.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and ISO standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
