TRANSPORT OFFICER

MORATUWA

Join our team and play a key role in ensuring efficient, safe and cost-effective islandwide transport operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Plan and coordinate daily islandwide transport operations to ensure timely delivery to dealers and customers.
  • Design and implement the most efficient delivery routes considering distance, delivery schedules and vehicle capacity to reduce transport costs and delivery time.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, sales and drivers to ensure smooth dispatch and on-time deliveries.
  • Monitor vehicle movements and ensure deliveries are completed according to planned schedules.
  • Allocate vehicles and drivers effectively to maximize fleet utilization.
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed safely while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle utilization and transport expenses while identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules to minimize operational downtime.
  • Maintain accurate transport records, delivery schedules and operational reports.
  • Handle transport-related issues promptly and provide effective solutions to maintain uninterrupted operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, road safety regulations and transport procedures.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the management.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Transport Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Transport, Logistics or Fleet Operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of route planning and islandwide distribution.
  • Good leadership, coordination and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prepare transport reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Excellent written and spoken Sinhala. English will be an added advantage.
  • Flexible to work extended hours whenever operational requirements demand.
