PATTERN MAKERS / GARMENT TECHNOLOGIST/ SAMPLE CUTTER
Miami Exports (Pvt) Ltd is a leading exporter of children's apparel, known for their expertise in every stitch of the garments they produce. We pride ourselves on delivering superior clothing lines, backed by deep industry knowledge gained through extensive experience and exposure. We currently have vacancies for the above positions at our Sample Room in Homagama.
PATTERN MAKER
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within a reputable apparel company, with a proven track record.
- Proficiency in the Gerber system, including pattern making, grading, and manual pattern making.
- Strong technical knowledge of garment fitting and construction.
- Excellent communication skills in English and a very good computer literacy.
- Self-motivated and independent, with the ability to work under pressure and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Age below 45 years and ability to work extra hours when required.
GARMENT TECHNOLOGIST
Responsibilities:
- Handle the sample process from development to production, ensuring compliance with required quality standards, buyer manuals, and factory requirements.
- Review, measure, and finish samples, ensuring they meet standards before sending them to customers and factories.
- Hand over styles to the pattern-making team and the sample sewing team.
- Maintain effective communication with buyers, external suppliers, internal teams, and factories.
- Follow up on the sample process and ensure all critical path deadlines are met.
- Work with buyers PLM systems, adding relevant technical and testing details.
- Create fit bookings and maintain fit logs for production-confirmed styles.
- Conduct risk assessments of garments and communicate findings to relevant parties as required.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate virtual coordination (VC) meetings with buyers when necessary.
Qualifications
- Professional or academic qualifications in garment technology.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within a reputed apparel company, with proven track records.
- Strong knowledge of garment fitting requirements and pattern-making.
- Knowledge of garment grading.
- Understanding of product safety and testing requirements.
- A Diploma in Clothing Technology, Quality Assurance, or a degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, along with strong computer literacy.
- Independent, self-driven individual with strong dedication to work.
- Able to make sound decisions.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work extra hours when required.
- Age below 40 years.
SAMPLE CUTTERS
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
