Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka & Finance PLC (MBSL), a well-established Financial Institution and a subsidiary of Bank of Ceylon is looking for a dynamic and result oriented individual to join our team for the following post.
Post of Legal Officer -Conveyancing Division (Manager/Senior Manager Grade) Job Role
Verification of Title of immovable properties, preparing Pedigrees, Title Reports, etc.
Preparing and finalizing Loan Agreements, Mortgage Bonds, Priority Notices and other legal and security documentation pertaining to credit facilities
Drafting/reviewing and advising on various types of Agreements, Deeds and other legal documents. Providing legal advise, guidance and legal support to Branches and Central Credit Department pertaining to Credit facilities and to the Real Estate Division.
Rendering legal advise to the Management on any other corporate legal matters.
Liaise with various Regulatory authorities and Branch panel lawyers, whenever required.
Candidate Profile
- Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public with a minimum of 10 years Post qualifying experience in handling conveyancing matters preferably in a Financial institution or a reputed legal firm.
A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Law will be an added qualification.
Should possess the Notarial License to practice in English in the Judicial Zone of Colombo. Should be computer literate
- Should possess excellent communication skills both in English and Sinhala languages.
Should be result oriented and be able to handle multi-tasks and meet deadlines with minimum supervision
Should have leadership skills and be an excellent team player. Preferably below 45 years of age.
Remuneration:
The selected candidate will be placed on a suitable grade based on the qualifications and experience and will receive an attractive remuneration package on par with industry standards, along with other fringe benefits for the above position.
