A Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Banking or other equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years' Executive experience of which 05 years should be at a senior managerial level in a reputed financial institution or a Bank
- Active membership of an internationally recognized professional accounting association.
• An information system auditing/internal auditing and risk management qualification (CISA, CRISC, CISM, DISSCA, CIA) will be a definite advantage. • Familiarization and in-depth knowledge in Corporate Governance practices, regulations, accepted auditing standards, accounting, finance principles and practices, variety of reporting procedures applicable to Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFI) sector.
• Strong interpersonal skills, Analytical thinking, focus on data-centric decision making and ability to take challenges of auditing and, Strong problem solving skills and ability to mentor and coach team members.
- Excellent presentation, communication and influencing skills with peers and subordinates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high degree of computer literacy.
- Age below 50 years as at the closing date of applications.
Job Profile / Main Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive internal audit plan in alignment with the overall business objectives and risk management framework.
- Lead a team of internal auditors, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure the achievement of audit objectives
- Ability to conduct audits covering specialized areas such as Financial Reporting, Credit Operation Treasury, Risk
- Management, IT security and Controls, Compliance, and other support services.
- Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure compliance and update internal audit programs accordingly.
- • Conduct risk assessment and identify key areas of risk within the organization, designing audit programs to address those risks and, undertake special audits and assignments as requested by, Board Audit Committee, other Board sub committees and Management of the Company.
- Proactively inform senior management of significant risks or exposures related to internal controls, compliance, regulatory and/or governance requiring prompt attention.
- Provide advice to business to achieve corporate objectives while safeguarding the regulatory requirements/internal controls and prudent banking practices.
- Interact with regulator including of Central Bank of Sri Lanka and external auditors with respect to audit matters.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to facilitate the implementation of audit recommendations and monitor their progress.
- Forster a culture of ethics, integrity, and accountability throughout the organization, promoting awareness of internal controls and risk management.
