About SDJF
(Sri) Lanka Development Journalist Forum (SDJF) has about 14 years of extensive experience in working with Youth, Civil society organizations, Women's organizations, academia and policy reformists, through a unique approach and theory of change. SDJF has reached the pinnacle of advocating for diverse, just, equal and gender-sensitive media through its educational initiatives. Using innovative and state of the art communication strategies and communication plans, SDJF has proven itself to be in the lead in promoting development, peace and reconciliation in Sri Lanka. It has proven time and time again that media has the power for positive social transformation if steered with steady and trustworthy hands. Registered as a non- governmental and national level organization that has been in operation since 2009. SDJF employs a variety of media tools and has institutionalized development communication principles to address voice poverty in the communities in Sri Lanka. A well-established media-based organization, SDJF operates with extensive experience in steering media towards democratization and social transformation process. SDJF work closely with local media organizations, International media development agencies, civil society organizations, institutes of higher education, youth and women development movements and other organizations that promote democracy and pluralism towards building inclusive societies.
About the Project
The SDJF is looking for motivated, dynamic and experienced project officers to join our energetic team for the project titled 'Minority Empowerment for Democracy and Pluralism in Sri Lanka' for the period of 24 months in Batticaloa, Mannar, Puttalam, Trincomalee, Monaragala and Nuwara Eliya Districts in collaboration with Minority Rights Group International and funded by European Union. The project envisioned to increase the capacity of minority youth and women to be active in the decision making, political representation. The project manager is a key player in implementing national level project activities focusing to increase women representation in the media sector to raise their voices. Master Degree in law, media, human rights, gender, social science, International Relation with 3 years' experience in similar capacity or
Bachelor degree in in law, media, human rights, gender, social science, International Relation with 5 years' experience in similar capacity or
Additional abilities and characteristics
Demonstrated experience working in the fields of gender, human rights, democracy and/or social development.
Should have a proven track record in project planning, coordination and implementation sector. Technical knowledge and expertise on reporting and documentation.
Strong writing and interpersonal communication abilities, including spoken and written English proficiency. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, the Internet, and e-mail.
Working experience with minority community and electoral experience will be an added advantage Experience in managing EU funded project will be an added advantage

Additional Information
Salary scale: As per the SDJF salary scale Grade 6, depends on the experience and previous earning history.
Language requirement: Working language must be in English
