ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER - GROUP HR & ADMINISTRATION

American Premium Water, the pioneer in Sri Lanka's bottled water industry & a market leader in the FMCG sector in Sri Lanka with a staff strength of over 1200, with an extended reach across Logistics & SCM, Construction, Polymer Packaging sectors within Sri Lanka as well as other Asian markets, is looking for a Group AGM - HR & Admin for immediate employment due to rapid expansion of operations. The ideal candidate should be dynamic, highly motivated, and results oriented with exceptional interpersonal skills

Role Summary

Develop, customize, strategize, and oversee the execution of global Human Resources strategies for the staff within the American group, aiming to bolster the strategic and operational efficacy of the company's HR function. Serve as a catalyst for change by spearheading and championing inventive HR strategies to optimize employee productivity and performance to their fullest potential

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing HR strategies, policies and procedures in order to ensure recruitment, retention, motivation and performance of staff at all levels, thereby supporting current and future business objectives
  • Streamline and improve the existing HR Processes and develop and implement frontier HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
  • Operationalize the overall HR Strategy in terms of Employee Life Cycle
  • Should be able to contribute at the strategic level towards the overall industry
  • Manage daily HR services including staff recruitment, training and development, performance appraisal and industrial relations
  • Assist in development and evaluation of reports, decision and results of all HR-related operational matters
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring training programs, including on-boarding processes, across the organization
  • Prepare the annual HR budget and drive all the activities within the budget
  • Ensure compliance to all the labour regulations & country laws
  • Handle inquiries and preliminary investigations relating to disciplinary matters
  • Be responsible for overall staff welfare and recreation
  • Ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Human Resource Department

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Human Resource Management/ Business Management from a recognized university or equivalent is mandatory
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in all aspects of HRM and IR, of which at least 5 years in a strategic leadership level
  • Professional qualifications in HRM, Organizational Development, Psychology, Development Studies or equivalent will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge and skills in Manpower Planning and Recruitment, Training and Development procedures, Performance Appraisal Systems and Disciplinary Procedures
  • Ability to make sound decisions and implement organizational change at leadership level
  • Should be a people-oriented person who has the ability work with diverse group of people
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire confidence in all stakeholders
  • Excellent written and spoken skills in Sinhala, English. Knowledge in Tamil would be a distinct advantage
