Situated in the heart of Colombo, South Asia's first CarbonNeutral City Hotel encompasses 31 suites & rooms, together with 4 restaurants and a spa. Currently seeking personnel for the following vacancies.

KITCHEN DEPARTMENT

  • Executive Sous Chef:

With overall ability and be responsible to manage entire kitchen operation in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer is essential, whilst supervising, coordinating and management of kitchen operations and control food costs, having a good knowledge of Western, International food, compiling menus and recipes with a good knowledge of kitchen management skills, costing of menus and meet established hygiene standards and specifications.

Requirements

At least 10 years of experience in kitchen operations/05 years experience in a similar capacity.

  • Must have a strong background in being associated with a star class hotel.

Provide supervision, training, including SOP's, direction and leadership to all kitchen staff. Ensure smooth operation in the kitchen areas.

Should be in control of purchasing, receiving and storing. Ensure the highest level of food safety and security.

Must have excellent communication skills in English.

  • Have strong leadership and training skills.

Should be hands on.

Have to be a leader, not a boss.

Chef De Partie - Hot Range

We are looking for a professional Chef de partie / Demi Chef de Partie to our establishment with excellent cooking according to the hotel's recipes and specifications. Your work will be an important factor to a client's contentment.

Job Description

Ensure adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations.

Prepare ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices etc.)

  • Follow the guidance of the executive sous chef and have input in ways of presentation or dishes.
  • Put effort in optimizing the cooking process with attention to speed and quality.
  • Enforce strict health and hygiene standards.
  • Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation.

Requirements

Proven experience in a Chef de partie / Demi Chef de Partie role.

Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes.

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.

Chef De Partie - Pastry & Bakery What we expect

Responsible for lead in day-to-day production on the bakery section to ensure the smooth running and product the bakery items on a daily basis according to business requirements during their day. Create new and exciting desserts to renew menus and engage the interest of customers and Decorate pastries and cakes using different icings, toppings etc. Being self-motivated and patient to train and develop other kitchen team members

What are we looking for,

2-4 years of experience in Bakery in star hotel or reputed bakery restaurants.

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a chef de partie pastry & bakery
  • Good knowledge of a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc.
  • Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking or relevant field.
