VACANCY
Sri Lanka Institute of Biotechnology (Pvt) Ltd is a fully government owned private company for research and development including biotech related manufacturing processes. We are looking for dedicated personnel to be a part of our team for immediate employment.
Qualifications Required:
Lab Technician
- Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or another health and science field
- Laboratory technician certification would be an added advantage
Experience:
Proven laboratory experience in the relevant field.
Your role:
- Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment for experiments
- Ensure that all instruments are in proper working condition, performing routine checks and addressing issues promptly
- Prepare and organize materials, solutions, and reagents needed for experiments
- Follow precise protocols to ensure the accuracy and reliability of experimental results
- Provide hands-on assistance to researchers during experiments and data collection
- Follow experimental protocols meticulously to maintain consistency and accuracy
- Record experimental procedures, observations, and results accurately
- Assist in data entry and preliminary analysis, as directed by researchers
- Assist in the handling, labelling, and storage of biological, chemical, or other types of samples
- Follow proper procedures to prevent contamination and ensure sample integrity
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure working environment
- Monitor and report any safety concerns or incidents
- Manage and track laboratory supplies and equipment inventory
- Communicate with researchers to anticipate and fulfill their material needs
- Collaborate with researchers, scientists, and other laboratory personnel to facilitate smooth workflow Communicate effectively regarding experiment schedules, equipment availability, and other relevant information
- Participate in quality control measures to ensure the reliability and reproducibility of research outcomes
- Report any deviations from established protocols
- Perform routine maintenance tasks for laboratory equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the laboratory space
- Maintain detailed and organized records of experiments, procedures, and equipment maintenance Competencies and Skills

- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Strong service and results orientation
- Proficiency in managing multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of written and verbal skills
