Process Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION

Process Engineer is responsible for working directly with the technical manager implementing new projects, initiate savings projects, prepare business cases as required & present to management. Also, responsible to conduct all trials, validations related to new developments and improvements/Changes related to products. He/she need to make sure all products produced under trials and validations achieved required quality level & delivered on time with right quantities. Also, he/she should support technical manager in solving day to day technical issues & all relevant activities. More importantly he/she needs to analyse all data related to technical developments/improvements and support decision making along with Technical Manager.

Job Level Senior Executive

RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Initiate and implement projects to support growth & savings to the plant.
  • Sustainable & innovative approaches to product developments.
  • Responsible for conduct all trials & validations initiate by technical manager or operations team.
  • Manage CRI process for validations done by technical department and accountable for conducting Failure mode analysis (FMEA)
  • Conduct all product/process improvement projects initiated by Technical Manager.
  • Prepare all the samples required for QA/marketing approvals and coordinate with supply chain department to deliver on time with right quality.
  • Analyse all the data related to technical developments/improvements using MINITAB tool and prepare all required reports.
  • Coordinate with Production, QA & Laboratory teams to collect & compile all required test results, production & reject details of all the change initiations made by technical department.
  • Prepare validation protocols, reports, product specifications & process specifications related to all the changes made by technical team.
  • Support Technical manager in solving day to day technical issues in all production departments through a systematic approach.
  • Merchandize for NPD, Insourcing projects, Savings projects, Alternative supplier development. Conduct communication with suppliers, sample development and testing.
  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Statistical Process Control (SPC) System, InfinityQS Proficient System.
  • Backend/ Front end user management of SPCMI, Database Manager and drive the System integration process in order to interact the other inhouse/ external System Developments with composing basic SQL queries, OPC, databases, files
  • Working with Global SPC Leader for enabling Statistics Process Control (SPC) Business Process Structure such as SPC Rhythm, Process Control Plan and Out of Control Action Plan (OCAP), Process Control Checklist, Best Practice and Methodology and Standardization across all products platform category

Compliance with EHS standards

  • Maintain compliance with all internal and external EHS rules, regulations and other Risk Management requirements.
  • Actively use the safety calendar (or contribute to the activities prescribed in the supervisor's/manager's calendar) as an accountability tool to measure safety performance and to promote the development of a EHS culture.
  • Follow the requirements of the 5-point safety charter

Compliance with QMS system

Ensure that processes are delivering their intended outputs with complying to the ATL-QMS & responsible to implement, maintain & continuous development in relevant processes in accordance with ATL-QMS.

Communication

  • Make sure all subordinates are aware of the plans targets and their dates of accomplishments.
  • Give feedback to teams through effective communication methods

Keep higher management updated with the progress of achievements of planned targets and any deviations revisions of same continuously.

KEY POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Textile/Manufacturing. Statistics must cover as a core subject during the course.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a manufacturing environment related to Apparel industry.
  • Knowledge in using MINITAB tool.
  • Must have a sound knowledge in working with MS office package.
  • Knowledge in Power BI will be an added advantage.
  • Subject Knowledge in SQL.

Ability to handle the works in a creative manner.

Exposure to lean six sigma principals. Lean six sigma Green belt will be an added advantage.
