The "English and Digital for Girls' Education (EDGE)" project, which is implemented by ChildFund Sri Lanka and the British Council, Sri Lanka aims to empower adolescent girls with English, digital and soft skills to improve their social and economic participation. The Field Coordinator based at the Child Resource Center at Slave Island will be responsible for implementing the EDGE program and other ChildFund programs implemented in the Colombo municipality including mobilizing communities, planning and implementing activities, managing the center and liaising with stakeholders. The role requires good communication skills and the ability to foster a friendly and supportive atmosphere for the education and skill development of children. He/She will be accountable for the execution of activities as defined in the project proposals, timely submission of reports and documenting and sharing the lessons learnt.
General written and oral communication skills in English; Preference will be given to candidates with fluency in both Sinhala and Tamil.
Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues.
Experience in community mobilization and conducting trainings.
Computer proficiency in general office software (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
Diploma or Bachelor degree in Sociology, Development Studies or related field required. Equivalent relevant work experience maybe acceptable in lieu of degree.
