Community Liaison Office (CLO) Administrative Assistant - Female/Male

The U.S. Mission in Colombo is seeking qualified candidates to serve as the CLO Administrative Assistant in the Community Liaison Office (CLO) in the Management Section.

The selected candidate is responsible to provide administrative support to the Community Liaison Office. The CLO Administrative Assistant works under the supervision of the CLO Coordinator and collaborates with the entirety of the CLO staff (CLO Coordinator and Assistant CLO Coordinator) to support the office in successful programming under all Eight Areas of Responsibility:

  • Family member employment
  • Crisis management and security
  • Education
  • Communications and outreach
  • Guidance and referral
  • Welcoming, orientation, and departures
  • Community liaison
  • Events planning

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time - 40 hours per week

The monthly gross salary for this position is USD $ 662.58

[LE Staff salaries are denominated in U.S. Dollars and paid in Sri Lankan Rupee at the going rate of exchange each pay period. The official exchange rate for April 08, 2024, is 1 USD = 298.80 LKR. This is a temporary revision and should not be assumed as an acquired right.]

Qualifications Required:

1. Education - Completion of High School (Completion of G.C.E. Advanced Level - Candidate must have obtained at least simple passes for a minimum of two main subjects) is required. (Candidate must attach relevant educational certificate/s).

2. Prior Work Experience - Two years of administrative/office experience is required. (Candidate must attach copies of relevant service/work experience certificates).

3. Language Proficiency - Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Reading, Writing, Speaking English is required. (This will be tested)

Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Reading, Writing, Speaking Sinhala or Tamil is required.

4. Job Knowledge - Knowledge of general principles of office administration and management. Standard knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

5. Skills and Abilities -

  • Ability to draft communications and reports.

Strong organizational skills on managing physical and digital office files.

Strong research skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365.
