TECH LEAD-SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Mainframe (Pvt) Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of Sumathi Holdings Pvt Limited, located in Colombo 03. It is a global technology and development company that provides high-end software product development services to businesses of all sizes across the world. Currently, we are seeking a Tech Lead - Systems Administrator to join our team. We require an ideal candidate who has a sound knowledge of Systems Administrator best practices, along with experience in working with various cloud platforms and technologies. Additionally, we are looking for a self-motivated individual who is a highly experienced professional and can work independently.
As a Lead Systems Administrator, you will oversee a team of administrators to ensure that your organization's IT infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable. The responsibilities include managing servers, enforcing security policies, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing backup solutions. You'll also be responsible for documenting system configurations, ensuring compliance, and managing relationships with vendors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, plan, and implement new systems and infrastructure components to meet the organization's needs and goals. Ensure the company infrastructure reliability
- Develop new installations and maintain (Linux, Windows, Anti malware, Firewall etc...)
- Discuss the issues and new implementations with Top management
- Troubleshooting server-related issues
- Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, evaluating their performance and negotiating contracts to ensure cost-effective and reliable services
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect the organization's data and systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Proven experience in system administration, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows, macOS), networking protocols, and virtualization technologies
- Experience in Azure or any other Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and equipment
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for system configuration and management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
