Job Position - QS Engineer
- Locations - Maldives & Sri Lanka (02 Positions)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed BOQs and cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs
- Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis to support project planning and budgeting
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to develop cost-effective solutions and value engineering opportunities
- Evaluate bids and proposals from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements
- Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Assist in contract administration, including change order management, payment certifications, and claims resolution
- Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are favorable and in line with company standards
- Provide regular reports and updates on project cost performance to stakeholders and senior management
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying and cost engineering
- Mentor and support junior members of the quantity surveying team, fostering their professional development
- Proficient in rate analysis
- Should have experience in the preparation of IPA and IPC
- Assisting in the preparation and verification of subcontractor IPCS and payments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 06 to 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Excel for cost calculations and analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and procurement practices
- Professional certification such as MRICS or equivalent is a plus
