JOB OVERVIEW:
We seek a Management Accountant with a strong background in product costing to join our team in Matale. This role is integral to our strategic planning and financial management, requiring a professional who is committed to excellence and based in or willing to relocate to Matale.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage a team of finance executives, providing mentorship and oversight to ensure departmental goals are met.
- Design and maintain the cost accounting system and prepare cost audits.
- Analyse costs, pricing, variance analysis, and the company's actual performance compared to the business plans.
- Develop detailed reports for management, outlining cost effectiveness and recommendations for process improvements.
- Conduct ongoing process constraint analyses and coordinate physical inventory counts.
- Prepare detailed budget forecasts and involve in financial forecasting and risk analysis.
- Short and long-term financial planning.
- Identify and implement necessary internal controls.
- Manage relationships with auditors, government departments, banks etc.
- Keep abreast of policy and regulatory changes related to accounting and finance.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a professional certification (CIMA, ACCA) being highly desirable.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in management accounting, specifically in product costing within a manufacturing setting.
- Strong analytical and data gathering skills.
- Must be based in Matale, Sri Lanka, or willing to relocate.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills to handle complex sets of data and make strategic recommendations.
