Accountant's role description:
Reporting to the Directors, we are a boutique hotel seeking an Accountant assistant / Junior accountant who will play an essential role within an organisation administering the business' affairs.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day accounting transactions
- Preparing the monthly accounts
- Reconciling sales revenue with booking worksheet and guest registration forms
- Reconciling petty cash and other business-related expenses Costing control for expenses
- Liaising with the external Accountant for annual accounts and tax queries
- Reconciliation, preparation and lodgement of reports and tax returns
- Reconciling bank accounts
- Managing the accounts payable function including the processing of invoices due for payment
- Managing the accounts receivable function including the allocation of payments
- Reconciling commissions billed by Online Travel Agents (OTAs) Monitoring the budget
- Processing payroll and other related payroll tasks
- Basic HR administrative tasks
- Review and assist in estimating budgets for current and future expenditures
Skills and attributes:
- Previous hotel experience will be highly valued
- Minimum 2 years' experience in financial accounting
