NATURALIST
Uga Jungle Beach is a luxury boutique hotel tucked within a secluded reserve in Kuchchaveli, Trincomalee. Owned and managed by Uga which is a luxury boutique hotel chain with an exquisite collection of hotels. The Uga Experience unites the natural magic of Sri Lanka with the warmest hospitality of her people.
As we expand and grow our operations, we are looking to recruit a dynamic individual with a passion for nature and the outdoors for position of Naturalist our luxury resort in Kuchchaveli, Trincomalee;
Responsibilities
- Conduct guided nature walks, game drives, and tours in and around the cultural triangle.
- Sharing knowledge with guests about the local flora and fauna.
- Promote environmental awareness and conservation.
- Collaborate with the guiding team to promote sustainable practices at the hotel.
- Stay up to date with the latest research and discoveries in the field of natural history to enhance the quality of guest interactions.
Requirements
- A qualification/part qualification in Environmental Studies/ Zoology/ Botany from a recognized institute.
- Proven experience as a naturalist, environmental educator, or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of local flora, fauna, and ecological processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire guests of all ages.
- A Passion for conservation and environmental sustainability.
- Experience in zoological research will be an added advantage.
