South Asia Gateway Terminals (SAGT), the first public private partnership container terminal in Sri Lanka, commenced operations in 1999, launching the Port of Colombo as a global trade's pre-eminent gateway hub to South Asia. HEAD OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Job Profile:
This position is responsible for the entire supply chain management function at SAGT and provides strategic leadership to the supply chain management and inventory control teams. Main responsibilities of the job include:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the supply chain function to optimize efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including original equipment manufacturers (OEM), shipping lines, logistics providers, and government authorities, to enhance collaboration and streamline processes.
- Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Introduce advanced data analytics techniques to derive cost advantages and optimize the inventory holding.
- Ensure the effective implementation of advanced technologies (ERP) and other digital solutions in relation to the supply chain function.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards and implement best practices in supply chain management.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- A bachelor's degree from a recognized university
- 5-8 years of related work experience with at least 3 years in a supply chain management role
- Ability to effectively communicate with Internal and external stakeholders. Master's degree in supply chain management will be an added advantage.
