GOOD SHEPHERD INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION

The Good Shepherd International Foundation (GSIF) is an Italian non-profit organization established in 2008, committed to supporting the programs of the Good Shepherd Sisters for women, girls, and children living in vulnerable conditions in the most impoverished areas of the world. We protect and promote the rights of people affected by poverty, human trafficking, migration, gender-based violence, and other violations of human rights in more than 30 countries of Africa, Middle East, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. GSIF is currently in search of a Project Officer and Finance and Administration Officer, reporting to the Regional Manager - Asia Pacific.

Project Officer - Asia Pacific

Project Officer will be responsible to assist the countries in Asia Pacific in co-designing new project proposals, seeking and applying for new grants, and liaising with the countries in project cycle management. Project Officer is also responsible to ensure donor compliance in implementing and reporting project updates. This role will also engage in conducting training and capacity building (online and in-person) for Mission Development Offices in Asia Pacific. The PO will contribute to strengthening the impact of Good Shepherd Sisters' grassroots projects in poverty eradication, women empowerment, and protection of vulnerable children and youth by supporting GSIF and its partners in mobilizing resources and managing grants in compliance with donors' requirements.

Location: Based in Sri Lanka

Hours: Full-time

Accountable to: Regional Manager Asia Pacific

Salary (RAL): Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Travel: up to 50% of the time

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • At least 5 years of experience in Programme / Project Management, preferably in an international NGO or faith-based organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, International Development/Relations, or Project Management is required; an advanced degree (Masters) in International Development is preferred.
  • Knowledge, experience, and familiarity with issues related to vulnerable women, girls, and children - particularly on gender-based violence, unsafe migration, trafficking, prostitution, poverty, empowerment, protection, and safeguarding is required.
  • Knowledge and experience in grant seeking, grant writing, and grants management, Project Cycle Management (PCM), impact evaluation, and baseline data collection are required.
  • Previous experience in conducting trainings in PCM is an asset.
  • Must be a self-starter who takes initiative and is able to work with minimal supervision; comfortable working in an environment with multiple actors from different socio-cultural backgrounds.
  • Language Skills: excellent in reading, writing, and speaking in English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset. Computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, presentation, and analytical skills with the ability to give attention to detail.
